Firnline

A private personal-finance dashboard.

Firnline reads account balances and transaction history from a single individual’s own bank accounts and shows them in one place, for budgeting, categorisation and net-worth tracking.

It is not a product. There is one user — the person who built it. It does not initiate payments and it shares no data with third parties.

Bank access

Account data is retrieved under PSD2 through Enable Banking, a licensed account information service provider. Access is read-only and granted by explicit consent at each bank, which expires and must be renewed periodically. Consents can be reviewed and revoked at any time through Enable Banking’s consent portal or directly at the bank.

The name

The firn line is the boundary on a glacier above which the previous season’s snow survives the summer and compacts into ice. Below it, everything melts away. It seemed like the right image for savings.
